| This
was a campaign that ran in major daily newspapers, highlighting various
offers across Fabmart's Stores. The challenges that we faced were to incorporate
a diverse set of offers and promotions, which could range from Books to
Jewellery, in a relatively limited space and to stand out in a newspaper
page which was often already crammed with colourful, eye-catching ads. We tackled the first issue by building each ad around a central theme. This could be a seasonal theme, as in the 'Let It Rain'. It could also be linked to a specific festival or occasion, as in the 'Fab Diwali' and 'Freedom 25' ads. We achieved visibility by the use of bold, simple layouts with strong headline fonts and a characteristic graphic style, often representing some of the items mentioned in the ads. This helped us create a distinct campaign look for the ads. We also carried through the Fabmart branding with a strong use of the Fabmart colours, red and yellow. Some ads revolved around a specific offer and had to be handled differently. For instance, the Carnatic Music Festival ad has a more restrained, 'classical' look than the other ads. |
